Melges 24s, Melges 20s, Viper 640s and SB3s will be racing in packs during Charleston Race Week.  The action starts on Friday, but many teams are expected to arrive early for setup and practice.

It will be exciting to see so many sportboats in one place.  Roughly 100 are expected to participate in the action.  It will be interesting to see which class draws the most competitors.  Melges 24 class President Travis Weisleder will be on hand.  Andy Burdick from Melges Performance Boatworks will be in town for his first Charleston Race Week.  He is expected to be supporting the new Melges 20, as well as the M24s.  The Viper class has both boat designer Bryan Bennett and class President Justin Scott scheduled to attend.

Charleston is known for it’s great sailing conditions and tricky tides.  Several out of town boats have called on local sailors such as Justin Walling to provide tactical advice.

We will be covering the on the water action here.  Be sure to tune in all this week.
