I have a schedule conflict and can’t race the boat. I will be on the water taking photos on Friday and Sunday, but not Saturday. I’m also volunteering earlier in the week.
Thirty eight (38) Melges 24s are registered for Race Week, including some of the top boats in the country and world. This is your chance to mix things up with them.
Hull 626 has a great track record:
- 1st Corinthian 2008 U.S. National Championship (12th overall out of about 45)
- 2nd Corinthian North American Championship (12th overall out of about 45)
- 8th overall at the St. Pete NOODS (out of about 45)
The boat is race ready:
- Tapered sheets
- Hutchinson hiking lines and pads
- TackTick Race Master
- Lots of other go fast stuff
Hull 626 is in a boatyard slip at the Charleston Yacht. It would be VERY easy to fly or drive in and jump on the boat for a great weekend of racing.
Sail with your own sails or mine. The charter price will be higher if you use my sails. My sails were new for the U.S. Nationals in September.
One caveat: the mast has not had the conversion for the new fixed headstay bracket now required by the class rules. I would be willing to consider making the change if you charter the boat very soon.
Information about Charleston Race Week.
Contact Reggie Fairchild for additional information about the charter.
