Heads up. Boats will be hauled out on Sunday by bow #, starting with the lowest bow number. Boats that paid the earliest and traveled the farthest were assigned the lowest bow #s.
Crews will be standing by at the hoist to help you. If everyone sticks to the plan and keeps smiling, things should go very smoothly.
Thanks!

The Hoist was repaired at 5 PM on Wednesday and several boats went in the water.
The plan is to use the hoist on Thursday. We have a boom crane truck on standby at the club.

The ChYC is having a problem with it’s new hoist. Service has been called and is on the way.
Meanwhile, we’ve ordered a boom crane and operator. It will be on-site just as soon as possible — probably in a couple hours.
We’ll post future updates here.

The Charleston Yacht Club hoist has been acting up. The Club has decided to replace the hoist. The work is supposed to be completed by early afternoon Tuesday.
There is a secondary hoist that can be used for applying Teflon to your boat and launching at high tide.
We will post an update when the main hoist is operational again.

If you can, please Teflon at your home club or marina. Hoist space and time will be limited in Charleston.

We’ve received a few questions about launching and berthing. For example, one competitor asks,
During the Nationals, are competitors required to berth their boats at the marina of the host club or can you dock at another location and motor out to race course area?
Here’s our answer:
The Notice of Race is available at M24Charleston.com. Section 15 covers launching and berthing. Berthing will be provided at City Marina, but boats are not required to berth there. See Section 15.4. Your boat must be afloat by 2100 on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 18. See Section 15.3.
Let us know if you need anything else.
